Strawberrys and Storms

The kids and I decided to go Strawberry picking... When we got to the farm the sky was nice and clear...  The kids wanted to get fresh honey, but I am not going anywhere near the hives. YOu can hear the buzzing as we pass by the hive houses.
Ethan wanted his own basket. I was not sure what he was going to do, but after seeing the other kids
pick berries, he quickly caught on. He picked some really good ripe berries and some rotton ones as well... I had to go through the basket very well in the end.
Logan and his *HUGE* strawberry.
The farm was VERY short on berries... it took us about 30 minutes just to fill one full basket.
 Yes, we took these!
 His first berry.
Parris and her friend Anne wanted to go in the further feilds... We had 87 rows to walk through, only made it to row 22.   The storm started to move in..   We could hear the hail falling on the barns... we started running back to the farm house, LUCKILY, the owner came on her golf cart and picked us up.
 Ethan becoming a pro.

Elizabeth likes picking the berries, just does not enjoy eating them... She is SO PICKY!

"Lets make Smores!"

We had TONS of dry limbs, trees, from Devin and the boys clearing out the back of the yard.  Finally, it was "dry" enough to burn.  The kids have been begging to make S'mores...  Parris's friend Nadiana (we call her Parris's twin)  had her family joined us.

Jacob ate about 12 marshmallows... Little sneak! We made him run around the house 10 times!
Parris, you can see her marshmallow, but it's on fire...

My Cow Girl

So, I have been wanting to take pictures of Parris wearing boots and a hat.  Our friend, Amanda had these objects I needed... luckily Parris and her wear the same size shoe.  Today, even though the weather was hot and miserable, Parris decided she would make me happy and take the photos for me. ( What can I say, She is an amazing daughter! )  Here are just a few of my favorite pictures I took of her today.

I think this is my favorite one of the bunch. She looks like she was having a good time, and she was not expecting me to even take the picture!

Ethan....

Ethan is growing so quickly! I love watching him (and all the kids) play and
grow.. I need to start making more videos! I enjoy watching them.

Fun in the water... He loves to get wet, always in the way of watering the garden, wanting baths and playing in the rain.

Garden's in bloom!

The Tomatoes are blooming. I love all our tomato plants. We planted
4 different type of plants.  Nothing better than fresh, from your
own garden Summer tomatoes!

We are getting strawberries in, but due to only one or two turning red at a time,
the kids get to them and eat them.
*Good thing we have a Strawberry Farm 5 miles away*

                                                               *Lettuce*

We had a freak hail storm 4 days after planting our  garden.... this is what is left of our pumpkins!

I have an herb garden as well... it is filled it Pineapple Sage, Mint, Oregano,  Parsley, Tyme, Rosemary ... I know I am missing some, but you get the point!

*Not pictured*  Peppers, Potatoes,  Onion, Garlic, Jalapenos, Banana Peppers... ect...

We have so much more to plant and get finished.... I can not wait to eat fresh produce!!!

Spring is here!

It has been quiet a while since I posted on my blog... Well, last post was from New York in December.   Spring is FINALLY here!  The kids were begging to play in the water... and since we do not have a pool, a sprinkler will have to do for now! The kids had 2 friends over after school.. Since today was 91' they all rushed to get homework complete and go play! It took no time! In fact, the house was QUIET!
Logan and Cane are buddies... these two kids are so adorable! We are sad they moved (10 miles  away)
Elizabeth and Dasia,

I am really hoping this Spring and Summer are filled with tons of play dates, trips to anyplace we can get away to and friendship...
